Do not rent a water heater!

For many years a homeowner would rent a water heater and when they sold the house the new buyer would assume the rental.  And why would this not continue? The answer is that many things have changed. As things tend to do.....  Rental contracts for many types of household equipment are now varied and can often contain commitments that you would not wish to willingly take on. Terms, price increases, very high buy-outs - they are far from standard.  Each requires careful review and that information is not always easy to determine when it comes time to sell and often the pace of the market prevents a buyer from making proper inquiries.  In other words, rented equipment complicates the selling/buying process more than it should and this causes confusion and apprehension.  In the negotiation process, confusion is costly!   Also, it just does not make good sense!
